Why we love this drink?

Loved for its bold yet refined southern charm, combining lush fruit with earthy depth. The taste reveals ripe blackberries, plums, and cherries intertwined with hints of dark chocolate, licorice, and spice. Smooth but firm tannins lead to a long finish, where freshness and power coexist in perfect balance, reflecting the authentic spirit of Salento. Deep ruby red with subtle purple hues, suggesting youthful intensity and richness. The color embodies the character of Susumaniello grapes, known for their thick skins and vibrant pigments, delivering both concentration and elegance in every swirl of the glass. In the aroma, ripe black fruits mingle with notes of violets, black pepper, and sweet tobacco. Subtle traces of vanilla, dried herbs, and leather develop with aeration, adding depth and complexity. The bouquet is warm and inviting, capturing the sun-drenched landscapes of southern Puglia.
History
Susu embodies the revival of the ancient Susumaniello grape, once nearly forgotten in Salento. Cantine Risveglio played a vital role in its rediscovery, cultivating it near Brindisi to showcase its depth and character. The name “Susu” reflects local dialect, meaning “up” or “rise,” symbolizing the rebirth of tradition and terroir.
